Incident: Fedex MD11 over Atlantic on Mar 7th 2010, engine shut down in flight

A Federal Express McDonnell Douglas MD-11, registration N599FE performing flight FX-1 (dep Mar 6th) from Paris Charles de Gaulle (France) to Memphis,TN (USA), was enroute at FL300 overhead the Atlantic between N54 W40 and N52 W50, when the crew advised they had shut down engine #1 (CF6, left hand) due to the oil temperature being out of range and were drifting down to FL280. The crew subsequently requested and was cleared to divert to St. John s,NL (Canada) without declaring emergency. About one hour later the crew decided to continue to Memphis, climbed to FL340 and reached Memphis for a safe landing 4:45 hours later.
