Incident: Ryanair B738 near Brussels on Mar 1st 2010, technical problem [UPDATE]

A Ryanair Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DYI performing flight FR-5407 from Eindhoven (Netherlands) to Madrid,SP (Spain) with 146 passengers, was climbing out of Eindhoven having reached FL240 just northeast of Brussels (Belgium), when the crew reported technical problems, levelled off at FL240 for about 10 minutes and subsequently decided to divert to Brussel s Charleroi Airport south of the city. The airplane landed safely about 30 minutes after levelling off. Charleroi Airport reported, that following the diversion for technical reasons the passengers have deplaned normally. A first examination of the aircraft found no malfunction. Ryanair said, that the crew received a cockpit indication suggesting a technical problem and therefore decided to divert to Charleroi as a precaution. A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration EI-EKE is estimated to reach Madrid with a delay of 4:20 hours. Following an emergency airworthiness directive released by both the FAA and EASA it became clear, that the flight experienced the failure of the the aft attachment lugs on the left hand elevator tab control mechanism, which resulted in severe vibrations.
