Incident: Finnair A333 near Helsinki on Mar 9th 2010, avionics problems

A Finnair Airbus A330-300, registration OH-LTN performing flight OY-95 (dep Mar 8th) from Helsinki (Finland) to Bangkok (Thailand) with 172 passengers, was in the initial climb passing 2000 feet MSL, when the #2 flight control primary computer (FCPC2) detected a problem with the rudder servocontrols. The airplane continued to climb for another 20 minutes and had just reached cruise flight level 320 about 100nm south of Helsinki overhead Estonia, when the crew decided to turn around, entered a holding at FL090 about 25nm east of Helsinki for about two hours and landed safely back to Vantaa Airport s runway 22L about 2:45 hours after departure. A replacement Airbus A330-300 registration OH-LTO reached Bangkok with a delay of 14 hours. Finnair reported, that the airplane encountered an electrical avionics problem that posed no danger to the flight.
