Incident: Delta Airlines A332 over Atlantic on Jul 6th 2010, cabin pressure problem [UPDATE]

A Delta Airlines Airbus A330-200, registration N858NW performing flight DL-260 from Portland,OR (USA) to Amsterdam (Netherlands) with 236 passengers, was enroute overhead the Atlantic approximately south of Greenland (40 degrees W), when the crew decided to turn around and divert to Goose Bay,NL (Canada) reaching Canadian Airspace at FL310. The airplane landed safely in Goose Bay at a time of about one hour prior to planned arrival in Amsterdam. Passengers reported, that the crew announced the airplane s pressurization system played up. NAV Canada reported, that the crew declared emergency at 40 degrees West and performed oceanic contingency procedures before receiving clearance to Goose Bay. The airplane landed safely in Goose Bay 2.5 hours later. Delta Airlines dispatched a replacement Boeing 767-400 registration N843MH from Atlanta to Goose Bay (DL-9936) which however could not continue the journey to Amsterdam due to crew duty time limitations. The incident aircraft was repaired and reached Amsterdam as flight DL-9859 with a total delay of 22 hours. The Canadian TSB reported on Jul 29th, that both engines (PW4060) had problems: the left hand engine s bleed air thermostat malfunctioned and the right hand engine s sensor line to the air valve had a hole.
