Incident: Jazz DH8C at Vancouver on Jul 25th 2010, aircraft dropped part

An Air Canada Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration C-GVON performing flight QK-8412 from Vancouver,BC to Kelowna,BC (Canada) with 35 people on board, departed Vancouver, when an object was seen falling from the aircraft just after the landing gear was retracted. ATC advised the crew, a subsequent runway inspection found a hydraulic rod about 3 feet (1 meter) long. The crew found no faults and decided to continue the flight to Kelowna, where the aircraft landed safely. The Canadian TSB reported, that maintenance found the hydraulic hand pump handle in the #2 (right hand) engine nacelle missing and the cotter pin loose. The cotter pin was secured and the aircraft returned to Vancouver, where the hand pump handle was repaired.
