Incident: Jet Airways AT72 at Ahmedabad on Jul 22nd 2010, nose wheel came loose on landing [UPDATE]

A Jet Airways Aerospatiale ATR-72-500, registration VT-JCA performing flight 9W-2510 from Indore to Ahmedabad (India) with 57 passengers and 4 crew, landed in Ahmedabad when a nose wheel came loose during the roll out. The airplane came to a safe standstill on the runway but remained disabled on the runway. The passengers disembarked via stairs and were taken to the terminal. The airport had to be closed for about 3 hours until the aircraft could be moved off the runway. Jet Airways said, that the airplane stopped on the runway after landing due to a problem with its nosewheel. Aviation Sources in India reported on Jul 23rd, that there was a crack in the nose gear, both nose wheels collapsed, the nose gear strut however did not collapse.
