Incident: V-Bird IL76 at Podgorica on Jul 21st 2010, rejected takeoff

A V-Bird Avia Ilyushin IL-76, registration EK-76021 performing flight VBD-2012 from Podgorica (Montenegro) to Yerevan (Armenia) carrying dangerous goods on behalf of a weapons factory in Montenegro, 1 passenger and 5 crew, rejected takeoff at low speed when one of the engines failed leaving debris behind on the runway. The tower observed black smoke from the engine. The aircraft stopped safely on the runway. The aircraft was disabled on the runway for about 3.5 hours. The airport reported, that there was a technical problem with an engine causing some fluid spill. The airplane and cargo remained undamaged apart from the engine damage.
